One of the few positive outcomes of COVID is that we learned the many advantages of utilizing technology for holding regularly scheduled, non-urgent, medical and behavioral health appointments over HIPAA compliant video platforms. Telehealth allows us to limit our travel cost and travel time, and allows us to incorporate appointments into our busy schedules increasing the likelihood of keeping regularly scheduled appointments, and helping teletherapy to be more effective. In my practice I use the Zoom video platform to conduct my sessions.
Benefits of Telehealth
Greater flexibility in scheduling appointments
No travel time
The option to expand your choice of provider due to having a larger service area
More convenient counseling options including location, time, no driving, etc.
Ability to have real time appointments without travel or waiting times
Increased availability of services to homebound clients, those with limited mobility or limited travel options.
Logistics
Prior to your session I will send you a HIPAA compliant Zoom link. Please be sure that you have tested the video function and audio on whatever device you choose to use for your session prior to your first appointment.
I will be calling you from a private location, and expect that you will also make every effort to protect your privacy on your end. Please make sure that you feel comfortable speaking openly and honestly in the area that you choose to take your teletherapy session from. Earbuds or headphones are recommended for increased privacy if desired.
I am licensed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire as a mental health counselor, which means that you must be located in one of these states for each of our appointments. If for any reason you are not able to be located in one of these states for our appointment, it is your responsibility to let me know this at least 24 hours ahead of time so that we can cancel and reschedule your appointment.
Welcome to my virtual office!
